Mysterious ‘68 Bullitt Bidder

And the Life the Sale Changed

By Dave Wilson

It’s two years since the original Kiernan family 390 Bullitt Mustang sold at Mecum Kissimmee Auction. At the time, only the Mecum Auction rep on the phone with the telephone buyer knew who the buyer was. This story came out: “Mystery surrounds the buyer.”

It’s as true two years later as when published. No buyer, museum, investor, or institution like the Henry Ford Museum has claimed ownership or stated what they are doing with the car. We all hope it is not just some fabulously wealthy person sitting in his lounge chair admiring it day in, day out by himself!
